Crop Walk A national ecumenical effort to heighten awareness and raise funds to address hunger needs throughout the country. This ministry is in need of: walkers, pledge donors, route refreshment staff. The process is a great intergenerational ministry; from beginning to end requires 6-8 weeks. Luncheon for Persons with Physical Challenges This parish event includes liturgy and a catered buffet luncheon served in McCarthy Center. Volunteers prepare McCarthy Center, assist participants with arrival & departure, serve food, assist participants with eating, & clean up McCarthy Center at the conclusion. (Scheduled once per year,first Saturday in October) Contact Person: Bob Monaghan
 
Ministry Women's Correctional Facility A ministry to Edna Mahon Correctional Facility for Women, this ministry organizes a collection of toys which the women can give to their children during Christmas visitation. Volunteers collect donations here at the parish, organize them and assist in transporting them with a parish provided van, to the facility. Contact Person: Gina Walluk
 
Mother Theresa’s Soup Kitchen Volunteers prepare and serve a meal on site in Newark, to those in need. This ministry takes place every Tuesday morning throughout the year. Volunteers participate according to their availability. Contact Person: Lee Spinella
 
Water View Manor Volunteers assist in transporting residents from their rooms to Liturgy room and provide companionship. Liturgy is celebrated at the Center on Wednesday mornings. Volunteers participate according to their availability. Contact Person: Deacon Stan Fedison
 
Family Promise This is a collaborative ministry of 250 parishes, temples, and various religious organizations in Bergen County. This service is provided on site at rotating host parishes. This shelter for families in transition offers meals, homework assistance, recreation, and general support and companionship to residents. Volunteer responsibilities may include meal preparation, set up of the guest space, tutoring, or spending the evening sleeping on site with the families. OLMC hosts this ministry three times per year. Contact Persons: Pat Hourigan
 
St. Patrick's Hot Meals A ministry to adults and children, in Newark who are in need of a meal. This ministry is offered the last Saturday of each month, October. thru May. Volunteers serve meals on site as their schedules permit or may select from the following: 1) Prepare two casseroles or a dessert from provided-tested recipes (twice per year), 2) Donate specified salad ingredients and loaves of Italian bread. St. Joseph's Social Center for Women and Children This center provides educational, social and advocacy services to Women and children residing in the city of Elizabeth, especially to those in transitional housing and job training. OLMC ministry to them includes financial support, school supplies, women and children’s toiletries and clothing collection (as requested). Volunteers are always needed to help coordinate the collection and delivery of items and keep the parish community informed of the progress at St. Joseph Center. The Parish also conducts an annual Fish and Chips Supper during Lent to benefit the ministries of St. Joseph Center
 
Monthly Food Pantry Collection    This ministry, through the collection of non-perishable essential food items, provides a consistent support to our local food pantry. In addition to providing a bag of groceries each month, parishioners can also serve as drivers who are able to deliver the collected food to the pantry. Contact Person Deacon Stan Fedison
 
Thanksgiving Dinner Collection Parishioners are invited once a year to contribute cash donations towards the purchase of grocery store gifts cards which are given to families in need so that they are able to purchase perishable food items for the holidays. These cards are distributed through our outreach ministry contacts at Oasis Center, St Joseph Center and the Parish Office. Contact Person: Susan Leonard
 
NJ Buddies Souper Bowl Collection: This collection of non perishable food items and toiletries is conducted each year on Super Bowl Sunday weekend. The items collected are then delivered to the NJ Buddies Organization to assist its members. Contact Person Bob Monaghan
 
Mother’s Day Toiletries Collection An annual collection of women’s toiletries is collected once a year on Mother’s Day . The items collected are then distributed to St Joseph Center and the local food pantries. Contact Person Bob Monaghan
 
Father’s Day Household Items Collection An annual collection of mens bathroom and toiletry products is conducted once a year on Father’s Day . The items collected are then distributed to the local food pantries and also to Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Kearny NJ  . Contact Person: Bob Monaghan
